Opened in January I think.

Part of a chain, but don't let that put you off!

Instead of Ye Olde Standard 'Veggie Burger' option, they have five different types of vegetarian burgers:

- Falafel (v) - Handmade falafels with homous, cucumber raita, fresh chilli sauce, salad & relish
- Puy Lentil Burger (v) - Puy lentils, potato, green curry, spring onion, salad, mayonnaise & relish
- Aubergine & Goat's Cheese (v) - Aubergine, goat's cheese, sun-blushed tomatoes, mixed leaf salad, mayonnaise & relish
- Veggie & Camembert (v) - Portobello mushroom, aubergine, red pepper, sweet potato, camembert, rocket, mayonnaise & onion jam
- Portabella (v) (n) - Whole portabella mushroom, sweet red peppers, rocket, mayonnaise, red onion & pesto

The other night I had the veggie & camembert, and I had the aubergine & goat's cheese in January, and both were excellent. The v&c did have way too much rocket but it was easily dumped on the side of the plate. In no way did I feel that the veg burgers were the token meal; they were stacked high - hang on, I have a picture of the v&c burger!

Please excuse blurriness and my Oxford sweatshirt.

I fully intend to work my way through the entire veggie menu, and then start again at the beginning.

I'm guessing that at least two of these could be made vegan by not adding the mayonnaise. [ETA: as noted in a comment, the bun and/or pesto could be problematic.]

Some of these gourmet places use bread that contains egg, which is an issue, though the waiting staff should either know, or know who to ask. The other issue is pesto which, if it contains parmesan, is very unlikely to be vegetarian due to the use of animal rennet. But it does look very promising.
Yeah, I wrote 'guessing' because I suspected there might be vegan issues I wasn't aware of and didn't want to sound as though I definitively knew what I was talking about. Thanks for spelling it out, and please post if you ever go there!
They look strangely similar to some of the veggie options in Wannaburger. Wannaburger's menu claims that the pesto they use is veggie.
Aubergine and goats cheese one sounds good. Pricewise, how does it compare to Wannaburger?
Gosh, I haven't been to Wannaburger in so long I can't remember! Though that doesn't explain why I can't remember the GBK prices, either...I'm gonna say £6-8 per veggie burger.
Think that's a bit more than Wannaburger but still good.
